Commit to LOVE.

“Receiving love is the key to experiencing more love and that begins in your mind by deciding to receive the love that God has given us.”

God’s love is His gift to us. Jesus came to bring us the gift of LOVE. God gave us His Holy Spirit to live in us so we would know His Love. Love transforms every area of our lives. When we live in love by His Spirit, by His grace, we experience His unconditional love. He created us in love and for love and to love.

Whether you are aware of it or not, every decision you make is a decision towards love or fear. Every action you take is an action towards love or fear. We choose to live from the love zone or the fear zone. Every decision we make brings us closer to the person He created us to be or further away from it.

We must receive God’s love for us if we want to live a life of love. We must choose to believe that God loves us. We must choose to agree with God about what He says about us. Love is the foundation we should build our life on.

We are made to give and receive love, but we cannot give what we have not received. We must know God’s love for us so that we can share His love with other people.

I recently read in The Inner Voice of Love by Henri Nouwen, “A lot of giving and receiving has a violent quality, because the givers and receivers act more out of need than out of trust. What looks like generosity is actually manipulation, and what looks like love is really a cry for affection or support. When you know yourself as fully loved, you will be able to give according to the other’s capacity to receive, and you will be able to receive according to the other’s capacity to give. You will be grateful for what is given without clinging to it, and joyful for what you can give without bragging about it. You will be a free person, free to love.”

Free to LOVE. That is my prayer for all of us. May we know ourselves as fully loved! And then receive and give from that place of love without expectations. I like how Henri said without clinging to or bragging about.

We choose the thoughts we think. What we think determines what we believe and how we live. Most of us are choosing to think about fear instead of love. When we choose to live in fear we miss out on the benefits of love, and we miss out on how God intended us to live.

What we think about grows. If we think about fearful things, then our feeling of fear will grow. If we choose to intentionally think on loving things, then our feelings of love will grow.

My life coach recently said, “You will never experience more love in life than the quality of the loving thoughts you think. You can experience as much love as you want whenever you want by renewing your mind to love.”

We must decide to renew our minds on God’s Truth and Love. We must practice receiving His love for us. Thoughts and beliefs reinforce actions. Actions reinforce thoughts and beliefs. We create how we experience our life with our thoughts and actions. What kind of experience are you creating? What thoughts are you allowing to ruminate in your mind?

We grow our capacity to receive and give love by practicing thinking loving thoughts. We practice trusting God loves us.

It seems to me like we are waiting for God to make us feel a certain way. We want Him to help us feel loved. But what if the feeling comes by believing we are loved by God. We believe, have faith, without seeing or feeling until we see and feel. We trust in God’s love, believe it is true for us, then look for the evidence in our life. We trust, believe, and practice awareness. It takes effort on our part. We must choose to believe and practice believing.

We must choose love daily, no matter how we feel. The more we choose to live in love the more natural it will become to live in love. It does not mean we will never experience fear. Our brain will still offer us fearful thoughts, but we choose not to stay in fear. We choose to claim love and live from love. We have the power to redirect our thinking.

We build the substances of our lives on God’s Truth. We implant His Word in our hearts. He expands our capacity to feel and experience a life of LOVE. As we do, God activates His transformation and miracle in our life.

My passion is to enlighten every person to this divine mystery. (Philippians 3:9 TPT)

We decide what we choose to believe. Choose to believe you are LOVED BY GOD!!!

For so many of us, life is hard and/or gets hard, and we get in a cycle of reacting to things and we feel like we do not have a choice. We think, “This thing happened, and I reacted, and I didn’t have a choice.”

We always have a choice about how we respond. We do not always get the choice of what happens in our lives, but we always get the choice of how we respond to what happens.

Choose love. In all things believe in God’s LOVE for you. In all things remember you are loved by God.

We start by practicing awareness of our thinking and how we respond. We create a pause in our response. As we practice, we will begin to notice and recognize patterns and ways of being. We will begin to realize the power we have to choose. As we begin to live from God’s love in us, we will begin to take responsibility for our lives. We will begin to realize our response has nothing to do with other people and how they act. It is how we receive God’s love and respond to it.

If you are struggling to believe I encourage you to pray this prayer, “Lord, I believe. Help me overcome my unbelief.” Mark 9:24

We choose how we experience our life with our thinking. You can train yourself to live a new Way. You can train yourself to live from and experience LOVE.

May you be committed this year, each month, each day, to receiving God’s love for you, believing you are loved by God, then living in and from His Love!
