Untangled.

If, or really I should say when, we become entangled which will happen because we are human and the Bible tells us we become easily entangled.

But God! Thankfully God will provide us with the tools, patience, and determination we need to become untangled if we ask Him and if we are willing to do the work. It won’t be easy. It will take time. But it is possible. Praise!

Thanks be to God who provides a way out! God who is aware of our humanness and tendencies, since He made us, and He loves us anyway, always!

We can become entangled with food, or alcohol or negativity or pride or selfishness or greed or materialism or jealousy or being judgmental to name a few examples. Too often we justify our actions or shrug them off as being not that bad. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to convict us. He will make us aware of areas we need to change. He will help us do the work to change. We must be honest with ourselves. Admit our responsibility for our actions that got us where we are. Acknowledge the problem, name it, then turn and walk in a new direction. Amen.

For although we live in the natural realm, we don’t wage a military campaign employing human weapons, using manipulation to achieve our aims. Instead, our spiritual weapons are energized with divine power to effectively dismantle the defenses behind which people hide. We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 TPT

We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NLT

Now Christ lives his life in you! And even though your body may be dead because of the effects of sin, his life-giving Spirit imparts life to you because you are fully accepted by God. Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since God’s Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you! So then, beloved ones, the flesh has no claims on us at all, and we have no further obligation to live in obedience to it. For when you live controlled by the flesh, you are about to die. But if the life of the Spirit puts to death the corrupt ways of the flesh, we then taste his abundant life. Romans 8:10-13 TPT

When you are tempted don’t ever say, “God is tempting me,” for God is incapable of being tempted by evil and he is never the source of temptation. Instead it is each person’s own desires and thoughts that drag them into evil and lure them away into darkness. Evil desires give birth to evil actions. And when sin is fully mature it can murder you! So my friends, don’t be fooled by your own desires! James 1:13-16 TPT

I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know him through your deepening intimacy with him. I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling—that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones! I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you! This is the mighty power  that was released when God raised Christ from the dead and exalted him to the place of highest honor and supreme authority in the heavenly realm! Ephesians 1:17-20 TPT

Friends! From time to time we will find ourselves entangled. We will say the wrong thing, mess-up, overreact, or any number of things. But don’t beat yourself up! Be thankful that the Holy Spirit made you aware. Apologize if you need to apologize. Make amends if you need to make amends. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, know you are loved by God and keep going!!! Practice self-compassion.

There is HOPE!!! There is a better WAY!!! Keep seeking and discovering!
