Guiding Scriptures

I love God’s Word.

I love reading scripture and discovering new Truths in scripture.

I love being encouraged by God’s Word and claiming it as my own.

I do not like to say I have a favorite verse because so many of them have guided me at different times in my story.

I cling to scriptures like my life depends on it.

I pray the same scripture for months seeking an answer.

I am rooted, grounded, centered in God’s Word as the Truth I live by.

I pray scriptures for others.

I have claimed, and claim, different scriptures during specific seasons for my husband and sons according to their needs.

These are a few ways I love and benefit from God’s Word.

I believe in the power of God’s Word. Whole-heartedly!

Currently my Guiding Scriptures are…

“Trust in the Lord…” Proverbs 3:5

“… but God has shown me…” Acts 10:28

“I do believe. Help me overcome my unbelief.” Mark 9:24

“… but even if He doesn’t…” Daniel 3:18

Hold on to loyal love and don’t let go, and be faithful to all that you’ve been taught. Let your life be shaped by integrity, with truth written upon your heart. That’s how you will find favor and understanding with both God and men—you will gain the reputation of living life well. Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Proverbs 3:3-6 TPT

I long to be found holding onto loyal love, walking in integrity, trusting in the Lord, and Him guiding me in every decision I make!

Peter told them, “You know it is against our laws for a Jewish man to enter a Gentile home like this or to associate with you. But God has shown me that I should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean. Acts 10:28

I do not know until God shows me. I used to beat myself up for not knowing something or not having done better but then thankfully God helped me to realize I am doing the/was doing the best I could with the information I had at the time. He reveals things to me and teaches me in His good timing and when I am ready.

Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:24 NIV

I do believe. And I still have questions and doubts and get frustrated. I have to continue practicing believing. I have to continue having faith that God’s love for me is enough. I practice believing I am enough because of His love for me. I practice believing that He is in control no matter how I may feel. I practice believing that He is working all things out for my good. I practice claiming His Truth in all areas of my life. I practice believing in order to stay rooted, grounded and centered in Him.

If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up. Daniel 3:18 NIV

I know God is able but even if He does not do what I hope for or things “go bad” or uncertain circumstances arise or He does not answer my prayers or whatever, I will continue to praise and serve Him.

What scriptures are guiding you?

What Truths do you cling to and claim?

Where are you placing your hope?

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:12-16 NIV

How can a young man stay pure? Only by living in the Word of God and walking in its truth. I have longed for you with the passion of my heart; don’t let me stray from your directions! I consider your Word to be my greatest treasure, and I treasure it in my heart to keep me from committing sin’s treason against you. My wonderful God, you are to be praised above all; teach me the power of your decrees! Psalm 119: 9-12 TPT

Amen.
